Gentleman Jim (1942)

A favorite early boxing movie and, incredibly, it's a true story. Errol Flynn portrays Jim Corbett (Alan Hale, his brother) who became the first heavyweight champion of the world under the new Marquis of Queensberry rules. Ward Bond does an excellent job portraying his rival, the champ. Directed by Raoul Walsh.
