The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)

Finally a version of J.R.R. Tolkien's much acclaimed series adapted to the screen, and done well. This film won all ELEVEN Oscars for which it was nominated including Best Picture, Best Director (Peter Jackson), and Adapted Screenplay yet none in the acting categories. The second sequel to win BP, after The Godfather: Part II (1974). Gollum's (Andy Serkis's) hauntingly spoken "My precious.", which refers to the ring and is actually (initially) from the second film in the trilogy (The Two Towers), was voted #85 on AFI's 100 Greatest Movie Quotes list.
