American Beauty (1999)

I had to finally rent this after all the hullabaloo I’d heard about it. It was very good for me primarily because I identify so much with the Kevin Spacey’s Oscar winning characterization of a man who quits his job. A story about life in the suburbs that is if you live on the Left Coast! Won the Best Picture Best Director (Sam Mendes his film debut) Cinematography and Screenplay Writing Oscars. Annette Bening’s over taxed “Mom” was Oscar nominated.
