Ride the Pink Horse (1947)A rather odd film, but one that you'll find it hard to stop watching once you start. Robert Montgomery, who also directed this film, plays a man who visits a small town in New Mexico to blackmail a gangster (Fred Clark). Wanda Hendrix plays a girl who distracts him; Art Smith plays an FBI agent who's on to him. He's assisted by a local merry-go-round merchant, played brilliantly by Thomas Gomez (nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for it). Ben Hecht and Charles Lederer collaborated on its screenplay. Andrea King also appears. |
