Touch of Evil (1958)
Some great cinematography especially the shot which opens the film (don’t miss it!) can be seen in this look at corruption in and around a border town between the U.S. and Mexico. An essential crime film noir thriller! Charlton Heston plays an Hispanic (?) border patrol agent Janet Leigh his wife director Orson Welles plays a crooked cop who is "The Law" you won’t believe the character Dennis Weaver plays and Marlene Dietrich gives an excellent performance too. Akim Tamiroff Ray Collins and Zsa Zsa Gabor are among the others also in the cast; Joseph Cotten Mercedes McCambridge and Keenan Wynn appear uncredited. Welles scripted a Whit Masterson novel. Added to the National Film Registry in 1993. #64 on AFI’s 100 Most Heart-Pounding Movies list.
